  • Create two string (REG_SZ) values, HungAppTimeout and WaitToKillAppTimeout.
  • Now, go to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop.
  • Change the WaitToKillServiceTimeout REG_SZ value in the right pane to 5000.
  • Navigate to following Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control.
  • Press Win + R and type regedit in the Run box to open the Registry editor.
